NJCAA Weekend Preview: Football
Charlotte, NC – With the 2021 NJCAA Football season underway, two divisions of ranked matchups will occur this weekend as teams compete on the field in hopes of remaining at the top of next week's polls.
The highlight of this weekend's NJCAA Football matchups is the top-five showdown between top-ranked Snow (UT) and No. 4 Iowa Western. The Badgers (4-0) will host the Reivers (4-0, 2-0) in their Homecoming game as both teams look to maintain perfection.
The matchup is sure to be an offensive showdown as the Badgers have the nation's rushing touchdown leader in running back Targhee Lambson, and Iowa Western is led by reigning Offensive Player of the Year, quarterback Nate Glantz.
Snow's offense is averaging over 510-yards per contest and limiting opponents to just over 130-yards of total offense. Iowa Western is averaging just over 400-yards per game and nearly 50 points per game, while opponents are averaging 12 points against the Reivers' defense.
The Badgers will be playing in honor of teammate Mafatini Taimane-Laititi Mafatini, who tragically lost his life in a car accident earlier this week.
Other notable ranked matchups: No. 12 Monroe College (NY) travels to No. 11 Lackawanna (PA), No. 3 Independence (KS) faces reigning national champion No. 13 Hutchinson (KS), and Division III No. 3 North Dakota SCS plays Rochester (NY).
