NJCAA Weekend Preview: Football
Charlotte, NC – With the 2021 NJCAA Football season underway, two divisions of ranked matchups will occur this weekend as teams compete on the field in hopes of remaining at the top of next week's polls.
The third week of NJCAA Football kicks off with a rivalry game between Pearl River (1-1) and No. 5 Mississippi Gulf Coast (2-0), Thursday night at A.L. May Memorial Stadium. The Wildcats lead the all-time series 55-39-1, but it was the Bulldogs that came up victorious in last season's matchup.
Fourth-ranked North Dakota SCS will host No. 3 Itasca (MN) on Saturday, as both teams battle to remain undefeated. The Wildcats (3-0) are coming off a down-to-the-wire win over Minnesota State Tech while the Vikings (3-0) defeated Vermillion 38-6 last week.
Saturday will also feature the top-ranked Division III team Nassau taking on Division I No. 13 Monroe College. The Lions (1-0) are coming off a 36-9 victory over Hudson Valley, as the Mustangs (1-0) look to add another win after defeating No. 12 Georgia Military (DI) last week, 34-16.
