NJCAA Football Weekend Preview
Charlotte, NC – NJCAA Football returns tonight with sixteen teams facing off in head-to-head battles for the 2021 season opener. The first weekend of the regular season will feature ranked matchups across two divisions to determine who will remain among the nation's elite in next week's polls.
The defending national champion and top-ranked Hutchinson (KS) opens their season on the road, facing off against Coffeyville (KS) on Saturday, September 4. The Blue Dragons return eight starters on offense, five on defense and one special teams starter.
Saturday will also feature a KJCCC matchup between No. 10 Independence (KS) and No. 15 Butler (KS). The opening weekend will conclude with Sunday's lone game, as No. 9 Lackawanna (PA) will face No. 11 Iowa Central at a neutral site in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
