Isabella Hardeman Named 2025 NJCAA DII Softball Pitcher of the Year
Charlotte, N.C. – Murray State College (OK)'s Isabella Hardeman was named the 2025 NJCAA Division II Softball Pitcher of the Year. Hardeman was nearly unbreakable in the circle this season, earning numerous accolades and setting multiple new records.
Hardeman posted a perfect 30-0 record in 33 appearances and 14 starts for the Lady Aggies. Her 30 wins ranked second in the nation and set a new program record. Hardeman also broke Murray State records in ERA (0.35), which led the country, WHIP (0.59), and strikeouts (200). Hardeman's 0.35 ERA ranks fifth in the history of NJCAA Division II Softball and is the first mark to reach the top five since 2005. She was one of just three pitchers across all NJCAA divisions with an ERA below 1.00.
The Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, native only allowed seven earned runs throughout the season, and surrendered just two extra base hits all year: one double and one triple. Seven earned runs were the fewest allowed among players with at least 50.0 innings pitched nationally this season.
"Our staff is excited for Isabella and our softball program," Murray State Head Coach, Aaron Mullens, expressed. "Individual success is built off of team success. When teams are successful, the individual aspects of the 'team' sport come to the forefront. Isabella exemplifies everything it means to be a part of a team. While she had a record-breaking season on the field, what our coaching staff is most proud of is her character and her ability to lead by example in every facet of her life. We are extremely happy for Isabella and her recognition at the national level by the NJCAA. We are very proud of how she has and will continue to represent Murray State College and the community of Tishomingo."
Hardeman also ranks in the top 15 nationally in total strikeouts (200, 11th), strikeouts per seven innings (9.95, 13th), and opposing batting average (.134, 6th). The freshman helped lead her team to a fourth-place finish at the NJCAA Division II Softball World Series.
