#NJCAAReplay Game of the Week Nov. 12
On Thursday, Nov. 12, the NJCAA Network, the new home for NJCAA digital content will re-air the 2018 NJCAA DI Volleyball Championship between No. 1 Miami Dade (FL) and No. 2 the College of Southern Idaho at the Hutchinson Sports Arena. The powerhouse pair each boasted a stellar record, but the Golden Eagles clinched the championship 3-0, their 12th in school history.
The second-seeded Golden Eagles defeated top-seeded Sharks in three sets (25-22, 25-12, 25-13), standing as the Golden Eagles' 20th tournament appearance, tying for most in NJCAA history. Of the last three years, either Miami Dade or Southern Idaho has won the championship title. Just a year before in 2017, Miami Dade won against Southern Idaho after also winning in 2016. Sophomore outside hitter Airi Miyabe was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player and Southern Idaho coach Jim Cartisser received the Heidi Cartisser Coach of the Tournament Award, named in honor of his late wife Heidi Cartisser who passed away unexpectedly in 2017. Valeria Alegrias and Scherine Dahoue of Miami Dade were each on the All-Tournament Team.
The Miami Dade and Southern Idaho game is the eighth of the reoccurring NJCAA Replay game of the week, highlighting one flashback game every Thursday night on the NJCAA Network. Fans are able to engage and follow along on social media each week leading up to the primetime event as well as cast their vote on the weekly poll each Monday via @NJCAANetwork.
