Harvester Bees Davis named 2023 NJCAA DIII Volleyball Player of Year
Charlotte, NC - Dallas College - Eastfield freshman outside hitter Azoria Davis has been named the 2023 NJCAA Division III Volleyball Player of the Year.
Davis led the top-ranked Harvester Bees to the program's second national championship and an undefeated 35-0 record. The freshman finished the year with 336 kills, averaging 3.26 kills per set. These both ranked in the top 15 in the nation. Davis had a .260 hitting percentage on the season.
The top-seeded Harvestor Bees came out of the gate swinging in the national tournament, with Davis making an impact all over the court. Throughout the tournament, Davis earned 44 kills and 39 digs over four games. In the national championship game against Century, Davis scored a game-high 15 kills, and a .389 hitting percentage. These efforts awarded her the 2023 NJCAA Division III Volleyball National Tournament Most Valuable Player honors.
Earlier this week, Davis was named to the 2023 NJCAA Division III Volleyball First-Team All-America team.

"Azoria was a key piece to our success this year as a team. She is such a good player in all facets of the game. She was one of our best passers all season, as well as a strong defender. She is so dynamic as a hitter, but very consistent as well. And just as importantly, she is a great teammate. Her teammates love playing with her. She is sweet and humble off the court, and tough and competitive on the court. She is a joy to coach, and this award couldn't go to a better person."
