Daytona State Wins NJCAA Women's Golf Championship
Daytona, Fla. -- Daytona State College turned in the two lowest scoring rounds in NJCAA history on Wednesday and Thursday, which led them to the 2010 NJCAA Women's Golf Championship at the LPGA International in Daytona, Fla. Daytona State has now won four national championships in women's golf (2003, 04, 05, 10).
DSC's second round 280 team score on Wednesday set a new mark for the lowest team score in a single round. The Lady Falcons turned in a 291 in the final round, which is the second-lowest team score in tournament history. DSC finished the event 60 strokes in front of McLennan.
Daytona State's Mitsuki Katahira took first place, shooting a 211 (-5) for the tournament, which is the lowest three-round score in tournament history. Katahira also set an individual record by shooting a 64 on day two - the lowest single round score by an individual in NJCAA history.
