2025 NJCAA Men’s Soccer Hall of Fame Inductees Announced
Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA has announced three honorees to be inducted into the NJCAA Men's Soccer Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Two coaches and one student-athlete have been enshrined in the 2025 class. Read below for more information on Ken Wolf, Michael Iannelli, and Mick Lakatos.
Ken Wolf | Coach | Anne Arundel (MD)
Ken Wolf served as the Men's Soccer Head Coach at Anne Arundel Community College for 33 seasons. After leading the program for over three decades, he then served as an assistant coach for another 18. While at the helm, Anne Arundel won two MDJUCO Championships in 1983 and 1984, as well as two NJCAA Division III national tournament appearances in 1995 and 2005. During his 33 seasons leading the program, he coached 11 NJCAA All-Americans, six NSCAA All-Americans, and tallied over 300 wins. The success of the program continued with him serving as an assistant, with two more NJCAA tournament appearances, and coaching nine more NJCAA All-America honorees.
In addition to his decorated career on the touchline, Coach Wolf was awarded the Bruce Springer Award for dedication and exemplary service to Anne Arundel in 2019. He was also a 2025 recipient of the inaugural NJCAA Coaches Legacy Award. Coach Wolf's impact is known for going beyond the playing field, as he served more than 10 years as chairman of the NJCAA Region XX Soccer Coaches Association and a member of the All-American selection committee. Coach Wolf's coaching tree extends far, as his mentorship has been described as shaping the lives of many young men who have competed for Anne Arundel.
Michael Iannelli | Student-Athlete | Herkimer (NY)
Michael Iannelli was a standout student-athlete at Herkimer College, leading the Men's soccer team in the 1995 and 1996 seasons. In his two seasons at Herkimer, Iannelli was a two-time National Champion, NJCAA Division III Second Team All-American, NJCAA Region III First Team honoree, and 1996 NJCAA Division III All-Tournament Team member. Iannelli was a two-year captain in his time at Herkimer.
In Iannelli's time at Herkimer, the team held an overall record of 49-0. Over the two-year span, he scored 14 goals and tallied 13 assists as a defenseman. After Herkimer, Iannelli went on to play three more collegiate seasons at West Virginia University.
Mick Lakatos | Coach | Macomb (MI)
Mick Lakatos served as Macomb's Head Men's Soccer Coach from 1968 to 1995 in which he tallied 237 wins, ranking among the top 40 of both active and inactive coaches in association history. Lakatos led Macomb to eight NJCAA Region XII championships to go along with six NJCAA Region XII Coach of the Year honors. Under his leadership, 10 student-athletes earned NJCAA All-America honors.
Coach Lakatos solidified himself as one of the top soccer coaches in NJCAA history, holding a 237-102-24 record. In addition to his well decorated coaching resume, he was also a valued member of the university, serving as a Professor of Physical Education for 36 years at Macomb.
