Six Inducted into Men’s Lacrosse Hall of Fame
Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA has announced the inductees into the 2025 class of the NJCAA Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association Hall of Fame. The honorees include one coach and five student-athletes.
Dave Mintzer | Coach | CCBC Catonsville (MD)
Dave Mintzer is the winningest head coach in CCBC Catonsville men's lacrosse history with over 200 wins in his 25-year tenure. He led the Cardinals to three semifinal appearances and was named the 1987 NJCAA Men's Lacrosse Coach of the Year. Mintzer coached 22 NJCAA All-America honorees and helped numerous players advance to four-year schools. In 2016, Mintzer was inducted into the CCBC Athletics Hall of Fame.
From 1988 to 1993, Mintzer served as the NJCAA Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association President. After wrapping up his coaching career, Mintzer took on the Director of Athletic role at CCBC Dundalk from 2005 to 2013.
Blake Miller | Student-Athlete | Nassau (NY)
Blake Miller began an illustrious lacrosse career as a student-athlete at Nassau Community College in 1994 as an NJCAA All-American. Miller then went on to Hofstra University where he earned NCAA Honorable Mention All-American honors in 1996. He was also named the 1996 North Atlantic Conference Player of the Year.
Miller led the United States to gold at the 1998 World Lacrosse Championship and silver at the 2006 World Lacrosse Championship. He played professionally for the Bridgeport Barrage (2001-03), Philadelphia Barrage (2004), Long Island Lizards (2005-2010) and retired as a member of the Chesapeake Bayhawks in 2011. Miller was a six-time Major League Lacrosse (MLL) All-Star selection and was named the 2004 MLL Offensive Player of the Year after leading the Philadelphia Barrage to the 2004 MLL Championship. He holds the league record for the most goals scored by a midfielder in a single season. Miller also played professionally in the National Lacrosse League with the New York Saints (1997-2001), New Jersey Storm (2001-03), Anaheim Storm (2003-04) and New York Titans (2006-07).
Currently, Miller is in his fourth year overall at the United States Naval Academy and second as a full-time assistant coach. Originally from Manhasset, New York, Miller was inducted into the Manhasset Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Long Island Hall of Fame in 2011.
Todd Wolters | Student-Athlete | CCBC Catonsville (MD)
Todd Wolters left his mark on NJCAA Lacrosse as a student-athlete at CCBC Catonsville in 1988 and 1989. Wolters received All-Region 20 First Team and All-Maryland Junior College honors in both seasons with the Cardinals. He capped off his time at CCBC Catonsville as an NJCAA First Team All-American, NJCAA North-South All-Star, NJCAA Region 20 Defensive Player of the Year, and the Cardinals' team captain. Wolters was inducted into the CCBC Athletics Hall of Fame in 2017.
After his time at CCBC Catonsville, Wolters earned a Bachelor's degree in 1992 from SUNY Cortland where he was an NCAA DIII All-American Honorable Mention and member of the NCAA DIII North-South All-Star Team. Wolters then returned to Catonsville as a Defensive Coach from 1993-1999. In 2000, Wolters began coaching at Saint Peter and Paul Catholic High School where his team has won four Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association Conference championships.
Reed Hnidy | Student-Athlete | Genesee (NY)
Reed Hnidy was a standout student-athlete at Genesee on and off the field. A 2016 NJCAA Champion and two-year team captain, Hnidy earned numerous accolades during his lacrosse career. Hnidy was a two-time NJCAA All-American, two-time Region 3 First Team All-Region honoree, and a member of the 2016 NJCAA All-Tournament Team after helping the Cougars to the national title. He was inducted into the Genesee Hall of Fame along with the rest of the 2016 National Championship team.
In 2016, Hnidy was selected as the Genesee Male Scholar Athlete of the Year and received the prestigious SUNY Chancellor Award for Student Excellence. This honor acknowledges students for outstanding achievements in areas such as academics, leadership, campus involvement, community service, or the arts. Hnidy was also an NJCAA Academic All-American in 2016.
After his time at Genesee, Hnidy transferred to Lake Erie College where he was named to the Great Midwest Athletic All-Conference First Team in 2017 and 2018 and earned NCAA DII All-American honors in 2018.
Brandon Kendrick | Student-Athlete | CCBC Essex (MD)
Brandon Kendrick helped CCBC Essex reach the NJCAA championship game in back-to-back years during his time with the Knights. As a freshman, Kendrick was tied for the team lead in points (57) while recording a team-high 31 assists. Kendrick ranked second in points for CCBC Essex as a sophomore with 53; his 31 assists led the team again. The midfielder received NJCAA All-America honors in 2010 and 2011. Kendrick then went on to play for Salisbury University where he received CAC Player of the Week and CAC All-Academic Awards.
Ryan Smith | Student-Athlete | CCBC Essex (MD)
A two-time NJCAA All-American, Ryan Smith was a successful attacker for CCBC Essex. As a freshman in 2006, Smith totaled 40 points through 19 goals and 21 assists. He then led the Knights as a sophomore in 2007 with 48 points (25 goals, 23 assists). After his time at CCBC Essex, Smith was named an NCAA All-American while playing for UMBC.
