Dunscombe inducted into DIII Men's Golf CA HOF
Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA has announced one honoree to be inducted into the NJCAA Division III Men's Golf Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Former Union College (NJ) coach William "Billy" Dunscombe will be enshrined as a member of the 2023 class.

William Dunscombe served 44 years as the head coach of the Union College men's golf team. With a record of 546-273-3, Dunscombe led the Owls' program to great success. Throughout his career, he led the Owls to 18 NJCAA national tournament appearances with teams and individuals and won one Region 19 Championship and seven Garden State Athletic Conference Championships. Dunscombe coached one All-American and had four players go on to play professionally.
Dunscombe was a Union College Hall of Fame Inductee in 1981 and the recipient of the Augie Eosso Award in 2018. He has hosted several tournaments over the years including multiple Garden State Athletic Conference Championship Tournaments, Region 19 Qualifying Tournaments, and Region 19 Championship Tournaments. Previously, Dunscombe has served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Delaware Valley University for eight years, served as Chairman of the Delaware Valley University Alumni Association for 17 years, and served as the President of the Tri-County Aquatic Association/League for 45 years.
Dunscombe began his career at Union as the Associate Professor of Biology in 1971 before becoming the head coach of the men's golf team in 1975. After retiring from the head coaching position in 2019, Dunscombe now serves Union in a different capacity as the Interim Dean of STEM.
