Dallas-North Lake's Gregory Crawford named DIII Player of the Year
Charlotte, NC - Dallas-North Lake (TX) freshman guard Gregory Crawford has been named the 2021-22 NJCAA Division III Men's Basketball Player of the Year.
Crawford was a key figure for the Blazers this season, leading the team in scoring with 20.4 points per game, while also averaging 8.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.1 steals per game. The freshman scored at least 25+ points nine times during the season, including five 30+ point performances.
The sophomore was one of the biggest volume scorers in the country. His 652 points were fourth in the nation while also leading the nation in free-throw attempts with 248.
During the national tournament, Crawford averaged 22.0 points per game and 9.3 rebounds. The guard saved his highest-scoring performance for last, scoring a season-high 33 points in the national championship against Genesee (NY). These efforts earned Crawford the 2021-22 NJCAA DIII Men's Basketball Tournament Most Valuable Player honors.
