Kirkwood to hold fundraiser for coach with brain cancer
Kirkwood will hold a brain cancer awareness event, fundraiser for assistant coach Ben Jacobson on January 17.
Cedar Rapids, IA – Kirkwood (IA) will hold a brain cancer awareness event and fundraiser for men's basketball assistant coach Ben Jacobson this Wednesday, January 17. The event will coincide with the men's and women's basketball doubleheader vs. North Iowa Area beginning at 5:30 PM. Both contests will be gray-out games, the official color of brain cancer awareness.
Jacobson, who is in his fifth season as an assistant at Kirkwood was diagnosed with brain cancer late last year. Donations to support Ben and his family will be accepted at the game. In addition, t-shirts can be purchased to help in the fundraising efforts. The cost is $10 for pre-order and $15 at the door.
