Football Players of the Week - (Sept. 18-24)
Mekhi Sargent ran wild for Iowa Western, racking up 219 yards and four touchdowns
Colorado Springs, Colo.- The NJCAA National Office announced Wednesday the Football Players of the Week for Week 5 of the season on Wednesday afternoon, and the nation's top performances were honored.
Mekhi Sargent of Iowa Western had plenty of room to run in Saturday's contest, breaking free for 219 yards and four touchdowns to earn offensive reocgnition. Scottsdale's (AZ) Walter Kalei helped the Fighting Artichokes get out to a 4-0 start with a solid defensive effort. Mississippi Gulf Coast's Mason Hunt had another perfect week of work, extending his unblemished kicking streak to earn special teams honors.
