NJCAA partners with JUCOWeekly
Charlotte, NC – The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has announced a partnership agreement with JUCOWeekly. As Official Partners, the NJCAA and JUCOWeekly will work together to recognize the top JUCO football player in America.
"The NJCAA is very excited about this new partnership and working with JUCOWeekly," stated Dr. Christopher Parker, NJCAA President & CEO. "Creating an end of the year award to recognize a football player at the two-year level is a great step for our association in getting these student-athletes more recognition and greater opportunities for success."
Each week throughout the regular season, JUCOWeekly will publish a watch list of the top DI football candidates. At the end of November, a list of three finalists will be announced.
"We could not be more excited to partner with the NJCAA. With the incredible reach the NJCAA has developed over the years on many different platforms, its forward thinking, its accomplishments along with its sterling reputation, this relationship is exactly what we were aiming for. The purpose of the JUCOWeekly trophy is to focus attention on and underscore the extraordinary talent these NJCAA student-athletes possess. These players deserve as much exposure as possible. This partnership with the NJCAA takes the JUCOWeekly trophy to brand new heights." Mike Frazer, JUCOWeekly Owner & Founder.
The three finalists, along with their coach, will be invited to Canyon, Texas, home of the 2024 NJCAA Division I Football Championship, on Tuesday, December 17 and a specially assembled media panel from around the nation will come together to select the top JUCO football player. The recipient will be announced at the championship banquet.
"What a great opportunity it is to partner with JUCOWeekly and highlight one of our student-athletes at the end of the season," said Chris Haley, NJCAA Vice President for Membership & Development. "The work JUCOWeekly does in providing data around each two-year student-athlete is a major resource for the association and a great addition in recognizing the talent at the two-year level."
"The NJCAA DI Football Championship is an opportunity for the best teams around the country to compete on the greatest stage and in partnering with JUCOWeekly we are able to award the top student-athlete at such an event," stated Dr. Brett Monaghan, NJCAA Vice President for Championships, Marketing & Sports Governance. "With JUCOWeekly we are able to recognize the time and effort a student-athlete has put in to be the best at what they do."
