NJCAA announces third-annual Lead Her Ship Series
Charlotte, NC - The NJCAA has announced the third annual Lead Her Ship Series: Elevate & Empower. The four-week virtual series will provide a transformational leadership experience for participants with a mission to engage and advance women in sport. Leaders in college athletics have been brought together to provide dynamic and expansive dialogues for the benefit of coaches and administrators of women in sports.
"The NJCAA looks forward to presenting the third annual NJCAA Lead Her Ship Series to the membership," stated Molly Simons, NJCAA Vice President for Championships, Governance & Membership. "This year's series will provide attendees with an opportunity to learn from industry leaders and hear reflections on ways women can grow in their personal and professional lives."
The series will explore leadership landscapes that educate leaders of women and inspire emerging women leaders. NJCAA administrators, coaches, and athletic staff that take part in the series will continue to build on having conversations, representation, and action towards moving women forward. All attendees will hear impactful messages that serve everyone, regardless of gender, personally and professionally while having the opportunity to interact with presenters and gain valuable insights. Virtual courses will run every Thursday afternoon from 1:00-2:00 PM ET from September 22 - October 13. Registration will be open to NJCAA members beginning September 1.
Debbie Antonelli will kick off the four-week series with a session titled Build Serve, Empower - Career advice with positive attitude. Antonelli is a seasoned national basketball analyst who covers college basketball for ESPN, CBS, Raycom, and Westwood One. The North Carolina native has also broadcasted in the WNBA since its inception in 1996 and is considered an expert in the field. With over 30 years of experience, Antonelli was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame as a member of the 2022 class.
Other session topics will include Caring Enough to Confront - Handling difficult conversations, Becoming Mentally Elite - Supporting student-athlete mental health, and Scoring Your Next Point In and Out of the Locker Room - Achieving excellence and breaking barriers in sport.
