NJCAA Sports Information Director of the Year
The NJCAA Sports Information Director of the Year is awarded to a sports information director who best exemplifies the overall purpose of promoting and leading their institution, athletic department, and student-athletes through sports information.
Created in the spring of 2020, the NJCAA Sports Information Director of the Year is part of the NJCAA Annual Awards that honor three distinct categories across the association - Athletic Director of the Year, Sports Information Director of the Year, and Athletic Trainer of the Year. These awards represent individuals who strive to create the optimal student-athlete experience on their campus while also performing duties that go far beyond the institutional level. Bryan Stewart - Indian Hills (IA)
Bryan Stewart is responsible for coordinating, designing, and managing all graphic design elements and photography for Indian Hills Athletics and its 17 athletic teams. This includes but is not limited to gameday photos, media day sessions, feature articles, media guides and record books. Stewart heads Warrior social media accounts, managing pre-game and post-game content as well as in-game posts. Stewart manages all of Indian Hills Athletics' logos and branding efforts while maintaining the school's website, press releases, and related records.
As a result of Stewart's efforts, Indian Hills is widely recognized. He has created one of the most unique and high-profile brands in all of junior college athletics and consistently goes above and beyond to provide photography sessions outside of normal requests that showcase Indian Hills Athletics and its student-athletes. In addition to these responsibilities, Stewart attends all home contests to shoot high-level action photos while promoting athletic events in real-time via social media posting.
During postseason events such as region and district tournaments, Stewart provides graphics, gameday programs, and photography when Indian Hills hosts. Provides visiting teams during postseason competition photo galleries to use upon request. Stewart received the 2018-19 Indian Hills Athletics Choice Award Athletic Appreciation.
Stewart continues to elevate the Indian Hills Athletics brand through unique design concepts that aid in promoting Warrior student-athletes at the highest level. The growth of Indian Hills Athletics is largely due to Stewart's integral efforts day in and day out. He makes treating all sports with the same level of exposure and promotion a priority and has played a key role in the growth of Indian Hills Athletics as more sports are added.
