Championship waives qualification standards for 2021

Charlotte, NC -COVID-19 testing will be required for all members of an institution's travel party at the championship held April 21-22 at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, IA. Proof of testing (PCR or antigen) must be provided for all members of team travel parties including student-athletes, coaches, athletic trainers, medical staff, equipment staff, and other personnel, and must have occurred after 8:00 AM on Friday, April 16, 2021.
All members of team travel parties will also be required to pass COVID-19 screening prior to each day of the NJCAA Wrestling Championships. For student-athletes, screenings will be conducted when skin checks and weigh-ins are completed. Face masks will be required for everyone inside the Mid-America Center and must be worn at all times. Attendees will be responsible for supplying their own masks. Student-athletes will be required to wear a mask except when warming up and/or competing. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the facility as well as wipes at many competition areas. Team travel parties are encouraged to bring additional cleaning items and/or resources necessary for their team.
At this time, spectators will be allowed in the Mid-America Center. The NJCAA, championship host and venue will continue to monitor state and local guidelines event attendance.

Charlotte, NC - The NJCAA will suspend district tournaments to qualify for the 2021 NJCAA Wrestling Championships for this year only. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, travel restrictions, and financial status of programs, student-athletes may not have sufficient opportunities to compete in certain meets or events through the regular season. These changes will allow all NJCAA eligible participants to compete at the national meet.
An eligible participant is defined as a student-athlete who meets the following criteria:
- Listed on a Certified Academic Eligibility Roster
- Listed on a Certified NWCA and/or OPC Weigh-In Roster
- Certified and eligible for the specific weight class entered that weekend
- Individuals failing medical examinations and/or skin checks may be allowed to weigh in and then be listed on the bracket as a medical forfeit
- Must make weight
Each member college will be permitted to submit one wrestler per weight class (up to 10) to compete at the 2021 NJCAA Wrestling Championships. Submissions must be approved by one member college administrator and coach. All submissions must be entered by Monday, April 12 at 5:00 PM ET. No late submissions will be permitted.
Qualification standards will be enforced to qualify for the national meet in 2022. The 2021 NJCAA Wrestling Championships will be held at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, IA from April 21-22.
